Chapter Presidents Update
November/December 2022Dear Brother Knights,
The Chapter is intended to be a conduit for information both to the councils and from the councils. District Deputies are to encourage and. if they can, bring the Grand Knight and other Officers to Chapter meetings. We have a lot of worthwhile information for each Council to learn, knowing a lot more than when they arrived. This knowledge will only make everyone stronger leaders of our organization. These exchanges of ideas and topics of interest come from state wide activities to developments within a council that others can benefit from and share experiences.
Our Chapter meetings are a forum that nurtures these objectives and encourages two-way communications. In this two-way exchange, the Chapter allows Councils to share ideas or ask for assistance. In addition, others, such as Council and Chapter Officers, District Deputies, State Elected Officers and selected appointed Officers, both past and present, are there to share their knowledge and experiences. There is much talent and experience at the Chicago Chapter meeting and it is freely available just for the asking. The Chapter meetings take place every 4thThursday of the month.
Jeff Griggs, Diocesan Chairman, and his staff of assistant Chairmen, in concert with District Deputies, are available to assist any Council in any way possible; membership, recruitment, retention and new Council development, are a few ways we can help. The Chicago Chapter should be viewed as a resource that can be contacted and provide immediate assistance. Councils, and or their District Deputies, just have to let their need for assistance be known.
As a Knight in the Chicago Archdiocese, you and your Councils are members of this Chapter. The Chapter is the mechanism that allows all Councils to work in unity for the common good of the Diocese and every Council.
Our churches, now more than ever, need our help and support, working closely with our Pastors. We must be visible to our fellow parishioners and always willing to ask our fellow man to join our Order.
Remember, each Council is a part of the Chicago Archdiocesan community and, as such, the Chapter with all its Councils is to support each other. Our Chapter, however, cannot provide support or assistance if the Chapter is now aware that it is needed.
On behalf of the Officers, Directors and myself, we would like to wish you and your families a most thankful and peaceful Thanksgiving Day and a joyous Christmas Season.
We are one and we are CHICAGO STRONG!
